Mobile Vision Clinics

Eye care brought to the worksite

We're planning mobile vision clinics for employers, so workers can get assessments, eyewear fitting and referrals without losing a shift to travel.

Why workers miss eye care

The barriers are practical, not a lack of interest. When getting an eye exam costs a worker a shift, a long drive or a day's pay, it gets put off, and prescriptions and eyewear fall behind the job.

  • Shift work: rotations rarely line up with clinic hours.
  • Remote facilities: sites can be hours from the nearest clinic.
  • Travel: time off site for a short appointment.
  • Scheduling: coordinating many workers one by one.
  • Productivity: crews short-handed while people are away.

How employer programs would work

From consultation to employer reporting

A proposed workflow. Pilots will help us refine it.

  1. Employer consultation

Your sites, workforce, shift patterns and goals.

  2. Program design

Services, eligibility and scheduling approach agreed.

  3. Employee scheduling

Appointments built around rotations, not the other way round.

  4. Clinic deployment

The mobile clinic sets up on or near site.

  5. Vision assessments

    Delivered by licensed eye-care professionals.

  6. Eyewear or referral

Safety eyewear fitting, or referral for further care.

  7. Employer reporting

Participation and program records, with no personal health details.

Planned capabilities

What we intend mobile clinics to offer

Final scope depends on the licensed professionals and equipment in place at launch. We'll publish the confirmed service list before any clinic operates.

  • Vision assessments delivered by licensed eye-care professionals
  • Prescription safety eyewear selection and fitting
  • Visual ergonomics guidance for screen and cab work
  • Referral coordination for follow-up care
  • Scheduling and records managed by VPI's own operations platform

FAQ

Common questions

Short answers about where mobile clinics stand today.

Ask us something else
Are VPI mobile clinics operating now?

No. Mobile vision clinics are planned. We're inviting employers to register interest and help shape pilot programs.

Who would deliver clinical services?

Licensed eye-care professionals. We'll publish who delivers services, and where, before any clinic operates.

Where would mobile clinics operate?

We're based in Leduc, in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region, and expect early service to focus on Alberta. The model is designed to extend to other provinces.

Register interest in a mobile clinic pilot

Tell us about your sites and workforce. Registering interest is not a booking. It helps us plan where and how pilots will run.
