Privacy policy
How we handle personal information on visionperformanceinc.ca. Last updated September 2026.
Who we are and what this policy covers
Vision Performance Inc. ("VPI", "we", "us") is based in Leduc, Alberta. This policy covers the corporate website at visionperformanceinc.ca. Our product sites and applications, including VPI SafetyOS™ (opens in a new tab) and VPI Mires™ (opens in a new tab), have their own privacy notices.
We handle personal information in line with applicable Canadian privacy law, including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name and email address, and optionally your organization, role and phone number, along with the topic and your message. We use this only to reply to you and to follow up on your enquiry.
Please don't send health information through this website. VPI does not currently provide clinical services and does not collect health information through this site.
Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used for security, to prevent abuse (for example, limiting repeated form submissions) and to keep the site running.
In your browser
This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. It stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage, which stays on your device and isn't sent to us:
- whether you dismissed the announcement banner
- the safety eyewear styles you shortlist, until you choose to include them in an enquiry
If you sign in to the client portal, a strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in for up to eight hours.
The site loads photographs from a third-party image service, so your browser connects to that provider's servers, which receive your IP address. Fonts are hosted on our own servers.
How we use and share information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, provide what you've asked for, operate and secure the site, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information.
We use service providers to run the site: website hosting (Render), content delivery and security (Cloudflare), a database for enquiry records (Neon) and email delivery (Resend). They process information on our behalf, and some may store or process it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
Retention and security
We keep enquiry records only as long as needed to respond and to maintain reasonable business records, and then delete them. We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, access controls and limits on who can view enquiries.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal exceptions. You can also withdraw consent to further contact at any time. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer below. We may need to verify your identity.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (opens in a new tab) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).
